These Terms govern your use of the Plates mobile application and related services ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Plates. Users under the legal age of majority must use the Service with parental or guardian supervision.
Plates provides calorie estimation and nutrition tracking for informational purposes only. It does not provide medical, nutritional, or professional health advice. You should consult a qualified healthcare provider before making any changes to your diet or lifestyle. Use of the Service is at your own risk.
You are responsible for your account credentials. You may not use the Service for illegal, harmful, abusive, or disruptive activities. Reverse engineering or interfering with the Service's functionality is prohibited.
Plates uses OpenAI to process meal photos, text, and related content to generate AI-powered calorie estimations. Data you submit may be shared with OpenAI solely to provide these features. AI outputs may be inaccurate and must not be considered professional advice.
The Service may also use third-party infrastructure such as Apple system services.
Your data may be used to operate and improve the Service, maintain functionality, and provide basic marketing communications related to Plates (e.g., updates or new features). We do not sell your personal data.
Logging your meals — by photo, voice, or barcode — along with your protein floor, your daily ring, and your basic trends, is free to use.
Plates Plus is an optional paid subscription. Its price and billing period are shown in the app before you purchase, in your local currency. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Plus subscriptions renew automatically. Your subscription renews unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew in your device's account settings after purchase.
If you are offered a free trial, any unused portion of that trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Refunds are governed by Apple's policies, and refund requests are made through Apple. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund a period already paid for.
Prices may change. We will give notice in the app before a price change takes effect for your subscription, and a price increase does not take effect for you without the consent required by the app store.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. International users agree to comply with local laws applicable to their use of the Service.
We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time. Updates to these Terms may occur periodically. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated Terms. You may stop using Plates at any time.
